The rise of software has changed the way we work as marketers. Borrowing agile trends from the software development world can help your agency team solve problems more efficiently and help your clients see results quickly.

With Team Boards and Task Stages, you have the opportunity to combine the power of a simple Campaign - Deliverable - Task framework and repeatable processes with the flexibility of Kanban-style boards.

Let's jump in and show you how to set everything up!

Step 1: Set Up Your Custom Boards in Agency Settings

Admins can set standardized Boards in the Agency Settings area. This is where you can customize the workflow for a specific Campaign type.

For example, let's say you're working on a Campaign for your content team. You want to outline the stages that each task should pass through on it's journey to being completed.

Inside your DoInbound account, you'll see a default "Marketing Workflow" board with the following stages:

  • Backlog
  • To-Do
  • In-Progress
  • Review
  • Completed

You can use this board right out of the gate or make tweaks to match the process you follow.

Step 2: Setting a Board for Each Campaign

Each Campaign can be paired to a board on the Campaign Overview screen. Just select the Campaign you'd like to set, click the dropdown, and select the board you'd like to use.

Once the board is set, you can view the Campaign on the board by clicking the board icon in the upper right hand side of the screen.

Step 3: Viewing Your Boards

To visit your Team Boards page, select the Team Boards icon on the side menu.

The first thing you need to do is select the board you'd like to review. If you're doing a marketing team standup, then select the "Marketing Workflow" board. If you're doing a development team standup, select your development board.

Next, select the Client and the Campaign you'd like to see on the board. Once the board loads, you'll see all the tasks from that Campaign displayed in their respective Task Stages.

From here, you can begin moving tasks around from column to column. You can change the position of a task within a column. You can also click on a task and see the full task appear right on the Team Board page.
