Quick start: your first report
From a fresh account to a meaningful dashboard in about 15 minutes.
1. Create your workspace
Section titled “1. Create your workspace”Sign in and follow the prompts to create your company workspace. You’re the owner — full access to everything.
2. Connect ClickUp
Section titled “2. Connect ClickUp”The setup wizard walks you through authorizing ClickUp and picking the workspace to read time from. (Details: Connecting ClickUp.)
3. Run your first sync
Section titled “3. Run your first sync”After connecting, your ClickUp members and their time entries are pulled in. The first sync can take a few minutes for a busy workspace — you can keep setting things up while it runs.
4. Add your clients
Section titled “4. Add your clients”Go to Clients and create the clients you do work for. You’ll map each client to where their work lives in ClickUp so time lands under the right client automatically.
5. Set rates for your team
Section titled “5. Set rates for your team”Go to People and give each team member a cost rate (what an hour of their time costs you) and a billable rate (what you charge for it). Without rates, hours show up but dollars stay at zero — this step is what turns time into money.
6. Create a project or two
Section titled “6. Create a project or two”Go to Projects and set up a budget for a real piece of client work — a fixed fee, a time-and-materials arrangement, or an internal (non-billable) project. Tracked time starts burning against it immediately.
7. Look at Company Overview
Section titled “7. Look at Company Overview”Your capacity, utilization, revenue, labor cost, and insights are now live — and they update automatically every time a sync runs.
Good to know: you can invite teammates at any point (see Inviting your team). Most agencies invite the leadership team first, since dashboards contain financial data.
